Course Information

Sociology GCSE - Crime and deviance unit

This is a seven lesson course that covers the crime and deviance part of paper 2 for the AQA GCSE.

Lesson 1 is an introduction to crime and deviance and an introduction to the ways we measure crime.

Lesson 2 looks at the functionalist's explanation of crime

Lesson 3 looks at the Marxists, feminist and interactionist explanation of crime

Lesson 4 focuses on social control

Lesson 5 focuses on differences in offending between the genders and classes

Lesson 6 focuses on differences in offending between the age and ethnicity

Lesson 7 focuses on the debates within the crime and deviance unit.
