Course Information

The AQA GCSE Memory unit explains how memory works through the processes of encoding, storage and retrieval, and models like the Multi-Store Model and Working Memory Model. It looks at why we forget (e.g. interference, decay, retrieval failure) and factors that affect memory accuracy, including leading questions, context, and anxiety. The unit also explores ways to improve memory, such as mnemonic techniques and context-dependent learning, and applies these ideas to real-life situations like eyewitness testimony.
