Course Information

The AQA GCSE Sociology Family unit covers different types of families (such as nuclear, extended, and lone-parent) and how family structures have changed over time. It explores the roles and functions of families, including socialisation, economic support, and emotional care, as well as changing relationships within households. The course also examines key debates, like gender roles, divorce, and the impact of social policies on family life. The unit can be a little sensitive as it focuses on both divorce and the dark side of the family.
